How is COVID 19 affecting us?

I would imagine that if you are anything like Debbie and I you are likely looking forward a bit of a break once this endless lockdown is finished. However, one of the questions on our mind is how will we know if the property we book into has been thoroughly cleaned and any trace of a nasty little virus destroyed? With the Coronavirus being able to survive for periods on a range of surfaces and fabrics, it’s very possible that normal cleaning routines may not completely remove it.
As your safety and protection from COVID 19 is very important to us, we have looked at the new government recommendations for preparing accommodation for guests, as well as the practices currently being undertaken by the likes of London’s top hotels, and we have adapted our cleaning routines to not only equal them, but to surpass them.
Here’s our new 10 point Cleaning plan in response to COVID 19.
All rooms are sprayed on walls, ceilings, floors, carpets, furniture, upholstery and curtains with a fog/mister containing hospital grade disinfectant and allowed to stand for 24 hours.
Following this, linens are washed in the property on a 90 degree boil wash using E-cover washing detergent and a non bio bleach powder, then removed for steam ironing at 150 degrees and returned to the linen cupboards ready for use..
Duvets, mattress and pillows are hung/stood up and treated (both sides), along with the contents of the room, with a UVC quartz sterilizing unit for an appropriate time.
All rooms are vented to remove ozone then deep cleaned with bleach based cleaning products with particular attention being paid to door and window handles, light switches/power sockets, TV remotes, all kitchen equipment i.e. fridge, freezer, washing machine and driers, toasters, mixers, kettles etc.
All kitchen benches/surfaces and cutting boards should are also washed with CleanPro 251302 Food Preparation detergent and sanitiser.
Bathrooms and shower rooms are deep cleaned with bleach based cleaning products, all loo rolls, soaps and cosmetics being removed and replace with new sealed products.
All cutlery, crockery, glassware and pots washed in the dishwasher at a 90 degree cycle.
The rooms are then dressed in preparation for guest arrivals and a courtesy seal placed on the door signifying that the cottage has remained unused since it was deep cleaned.
For the duration of the pandemic, we shall not be carrying out additional cleaning whilst the property is occupied, but will be happy to supply additional towels and linens as requested. All dirty linen being removed in black plastic sacks for off-site laundry. Of course all guests are welcome to wash and dry their own linen in the washing machines and driers in their cottages and we are happy to supply laundry power for your convenience.
In order to minimize contact, your cottage shall be ready for your arrival with the doors left unlocked and the key in the door. A letter of welcome, along with a simple cottage information pack, will be awaiting your arrival.
Now don’t worry about not seeing us as we will be around and of course we will still see you to say hello.

Great reasons to consider holidays in the UK for 2020/2021
