Bottlenose Dolphins With EcoVentures

What visit to Scotland would be complete without spending time with the Moray Firth Bottlenose Dolphins. The grace and beauty they demonstrate as they play in the waters of the Moray Firth has become legendary.

We are truly fortunate to have such a variety of wildlife on our doorstep, the most famous of which being the resident colony of Bottlenose Dolphins.

Join them and enjoy the unique thrill of exploring these waters aboard their custom built, wildlife watching RIB, ‘Saorsa’ and let them share with you the scenery, wildlife and history that make this area so very special.

EcoVentures has operated from the beautiful, historic town of Cromarty since 2004 and is owned and operated by local skipper Sarah, who has nearly 20 years experience running trips in these waters.

Sarah, along with her small, friendly team have a real passion for what they do and look forward to welcoming you.

Bottlenose Dolphins & Other Species

Although Bottlenose Dolphins tend to be the most frequently encountered and well known species in the Moray Firth, they do often encounter other sea-life and birdlife while out on their trips.

Like the Dolphins some species, such as the shy Harbour Porpoise can be seen in the Firth all year round, others such as the Pilot Whale and Basking Shark are much more occasional visitors.  Experience over the years has taught them where and when they are most likely to encounter which species but often, as with any wild animal, it comes down to a little bit of luck.
