Taste of Nairn 12 – 14 April
April 12 - April 14
A three-day festival which will see ‘noodles’ of food and drink related events taking place in Nairn.
From a huge picnic in the park, gin and jazz, food related films, a beer and banter comedy night and an artisan market, visitors are being encouraged to visit a Taste of Nairn which will take place between April 12-14.
A COOKING contest in which entrants compete to be crowned the World Tattie Scone Champion has a new home for 2019.
The World Tattie Scone Contest will this year take place at Taste of Nairn, a new three-day festival taking place in the seaside town between April 12-14.
The World Tattie Scone Championship was launched in 2013 at Piping At Forres and was held there for six years.
However, Forres Events Limited, who organised Piping At Forres, and Oakwood Cookery School, near Elgin, that run the tattie making contest were delighted to offer it to Taste of Nairn in the festival’s debut year.
Elaine Sutherland, owner of the Oakwood Cookery School said she was delighted the competition will return for a seventh year.
She said: “It’s great to be working with the organisers of Taste of Nairn and to ensure the World Tattie Scone Contest lives on for another year. It is synonymous with Piping at Forres, however, it is now an event in its own right, so where better to run it than at a food and drink-related festival.”
