People think that here in Moray we are limited to great beaches, beautiful forests walks and trails but not many realise that we are less that 60 minutes away from some of the very best Skiing in the UK. Debbie and I took the short hop down the road to Aviemore which sits as the gateway to the Cairngorms.
With a ticket in our hand for the funicular railway, we joined the rest of the holiday makers and with feelings of excitement we journeyed to the very top of the mountain where the view was unbelievable. The sky was completely clear and although there was a bit of a wind, this didn’t stop us standing out on the observation platform to enjoy the view which reached across the entire breadth of Scotland to the west coast.
In the bright sunshine we could clearly see the tops of Ben Nevis reaching almost up into the sky itself. Although there was no snow at all on the tops, we plan to go back a little later in the year when the first flakes of snow start to fall. Now where did I put my skis?
